Village of Meigné

The first written evidence about the village date back to the year 1000, when the Count of Anjou Fulk Nerra over to his vassal, Drogo, the church and the mill which is grouped around a small rural community. The church, as we can see today, has kept its 15th century tower.

Village life was often influenced by the moods of the lord of the Tremblaye hamlet whose current castle, dating from the second half of the 17th century, now houses a disabled center. Meigné is primarily an agricultural town, partly wooded, cereals are grown in the plains and valleys on the vine.
